MARCH 2005 - MEDIA ADVISORY: INCORRECT MONTE MILLER BEING IDENTIFIED IN CLARK COUNTY RECORDER FRAN DEANE COVERAGE
 |
(Las Vegas, Nv) -- Some of the recent coverage with regard to Clark County Recorder Fran Deane have identified the wrong Monte Miller from Las Vegas as associated with the investigation.
Monte Miller with KeyState Corporate Management, based in Las Vegas, is being inadvertently confused with Monty Miller (spelled with a "y") of American Document Company, also based in Las Vegas.
Emily Neilson, President and General Manager of Las Vegas television station KLAS said "We sincerely regret that KLAS inadvertently used Monte Miller’s (from KeyState) photograph in one of our stories regarding Frances Deane. We have publicly corrected the story and apologize to Monte Miller (from KeyState) for the confusion."
As soon as the error in the KLAS newscast was discovered, the station began airing a correction stating that "We had the name right, but we showed you an incorrect photograph."
The Monte Miller who owns KeyState has never been associated with Francis Deane or the Recorders Office. "To my knowledge I have never even met Ms. Dean" stated Miller. "I am grateful for the many people who have called me to offer to help, but I really want the message out that I am not the ' Monty Miller' (with a 'y') who is being investigated." |
